Assignment 3's Progression

图片
This week is week 11 and I have done much more for the assignment 3. I am happy that the modelling is smoother than last assignment. Till now, I still haven't have any big issue or problem with it. The only problem is that the image is too blur when it is zoom in to the extent possible. I told my friend about it, she suggested me to find the image of that object to model and resize it after modelling. Although I have tried the way of using the object's image to model, but I felt it is difficult for me to measure the size of that object. So, I decided to model by using only the main image.

Assignment 3 start!

Last week, we should be showing about 5% to 10% progression of assignment 3, but due to everyone was doing the rendering for the assignment 2, so no one touch the assignment 3. (Rendering is super duper slow and we can't use our laptop when rendering...) So, this week, week 10, we have been asked to show about 15% of modelling the IKEA image. This time I have been reminded kindly by Mr Simon not to be late submission as we will be having final examination after week 14. There will be no time for me to revision for the final if I submit after week 14. Before I started to model the objects, I have issue with the image. I can't import the image onto the plane, It showed nothing. Later, then I only knew that the JPEG image that I imported is a bad JPEG file. That's why I can't open it in 3Ds Max. So, I downloaded another same image to import it into the 3Ds Max and it worked successfully. I started with the small objects on the rack using the line and 'lathe'...

Assignment 2's finishing

This week is already week 9 and I haven't finish the phone modelling! So I have to postponed my assignment submission date, so that I could finish all the things. Finally my efforts are not in vain, I managed to submit it after a week, although the details are not exactly the same as the model. As for Assignment 3, I did nothing for it as I was rushing for assignment 2. So, there is no progression for it.

Assignment 2 by should be almost done

It's week 8. It is tough for me as I realized there are still lots of details need to be done for the phone modelling and the deadline is next week. I started to use 'Proboolean' tool for creating the buttons hole on the surface of the upper part of the phone, but it came out with the result like this. When I proboolean it, the side disappear! Later, I tried the old way to do the hole, using 'Boolean' tool and it's working. Assignment 3: The assignment 3 is about to model all the objects that is appear in the IKEA's catalog image. I have chosen the image of kitchen. The image is simple and the details shown is obvious, so it is easier for me to model.

Assignment 2 by supposedly 70%

This week is week 7. Today we have been taught about lighting, which has been taught to us in many subjects, in the lecture class. For the tutorial, we have been lectured how to use 'swiftloop' to give more consistent edges to the objects; 'displacement' tool allows us to have the 3D object just using an image as it detects the color contrast of the image; and finally is the 'unwrap UVW' tool, it unwrap the 3D object into polygons to help in making details. Assignment 2 Progressions: Basically I have done the upper and lower part of the phone modelling, its just that the four corner that are curvy shape of the model Nokia 3310 is still a big issue for me. In order to reduce the time loss, i have started to model the buttons and the screen.

Assignment 2 progression

This week is week 6. Our 3D lecturer asked us to answer how many megapixels can a human eye see in blog, a human eye can see about 576 megapixels. Assignment 2 progression: I had started the phone modelling, i found out that the side of the model Nokia 3310 is the most difficult part to model. The side of the Nokia 3310 is curve and its difficult to get the curve exactly the same. At first, I tried to use the line to create the shape from the side and front view, shell it to have a solid form, then combine both together to get the whole. However, I realized that wouldn't work as the four corner of the phone will not be the curve like the model. Later, my friends that are in the same class as me tell me the way of using 'chamfer' tool to curve the editable poly. Although the 'chamfer' tool is able to curve the editable poly but not exactly every places. So, still need to find some other ways to overcome it.
